Hi.
The last few days my msn messenger is very strange. It doesn't always work. It seams to stop working after restarting my computer. It doesn't let me sign in. If i try later to sign in again it lets me eventually but if for any reason i have to restart i have the same problem.
Everything else such as internet explorer, skype or even windows messenger work fine so i don't understand what's wrong with msn messenger.
I have got 7.5. I tried the repair option, uninstall and install again but still the same.
I actually prefear windows messenger but unfortunately it doesn't notify me when i get new emails and that's why i use msn. But windows messenger is more accessible.
Anyway if you know why this is happening it would be nice.
Thanks
Hi Nikos,
ome times my msn is not starting automatically if i am on wireless as it tries to connect but has to wait for a connexion. I therefore have to close it and starting again whenmy connesion is better.
Now i do not know if it is your case, i say it as a possiblity. Also, have you checked all the options so as to have it start automatically and signing in when you connect to the internet.
If both items are not helping, i am sorry friend, it is all i could think of at the moment.
Cheers
John
Hi John.
Thanks for trying to help. My connection is an ADSL cable connection so internet starts as soon as i start my computer.
Also i have got it set to start automatically and it used to work fine only recently it started being strange. I just thought of something else that might coz the problem. Recently i installed live messenger 8.1 to try it but i didn't like it so i went back to 7.5. I can't see this as a problem but i think it was after that that my messenger started being strange. And i don't know how to fix it.
Thanks for trying to help anyway.
ah but yes, Nikos, you hit it right on the nail. I did not know that and indeed, i have had the same issues when i downgraded msn before.
There is a way, but i don't recommend that you do it unless you know precisely what you do, and it would be to go delete the msn thing in the registry, but then you have to be absolutely accurate.
But yes, you have now two options. Using windows life, which is accessible to me but perhaps you encounter difficulties that I am not aware of, or then stick to windows messenger. For your mail, yes it may be a problem if you rely on hotmail.
Yes, messenger plus gives you an option to check your different accounts. Perhaps you should try it?
Good luck mate.

Hi.
Just to let you know that i found a solution to my problem. A very strange one but it seams to work.
My msn messenger used to start automatically. So i unchecked the checkbox to make it start automatically and i run it manually after i start my computer and it seams to work better.
After that i checked again the checkbox to make it start automatically and it doesn't seam to have any problems now. I know it is very strange.
I don't understand computers sometimes.
